How Covalent came to be

The first version of Covalent was built in a weekend at a distributed systems hackathon in the fall of 2017. After winning the hackathon, we decided to turn it into a managed service and start commercialization.

Covalent is built by a smart team of financial analysts, data scientists, blockchain and database engineers passionate about improving and scaling blockchain technologies. Covalent is funded by leading venture investors, with over a decade of expertise building and scaling technology companies. The company is 12-person distributed team headquartered in Vancouver, BC.
