We caught up with Emma Liu, Co-founder / CEO at ChainGuardians, to see how they are using Covalent’s API to help with the development of a blockchain-based gaming platform. Here is what they had to say about Covalent’s API.
Q: Can you explain ChainGuardians?
ChainGuardians is essentially a blockchain meets superheroes gaming ecosystem. Our underlying aim is to combine traditional gaming concepts with blockchain technologies in order to drive the adoption of the technology. As well as boasting the world’s first NFT proof-of-stake (PoS) mining platform and interoperable RPG, ChainGuardians also merges awe-inspiring artwork with imaginative storytelling. We want to create the most immersive cross-chain gaming experience.
Q: What use case(s) does the Covalent API help you solve?
The NFT PoS mining platform is a novel feature of ChainGuardians where users can put their NFT to work in order to yield income. Of course, real-time data is needed here in order to recognise the asset that will be staked and also to pull new collections as they are added. New collections being card sets that ChainGuardians release.
There is where the Covalent API is used. It is ultimately more thorough and expeditious than other APIs and allows ChainGuardians to facilitate a seamless user experience for miners.

Q: In your own words how do you feel Covalent is helping power your project?
With the Covalent API, we are enabling players to have a more user-friendly experience on the platform. We place significant emphasis on user experience at ChainGuardians and it is paramount that other projects in the space follow suit if we are to witness mainstream adoption.
